New York Minute: 2 Days Out From Trip

So some of you may know I am going to meet with my editor, agent, and the teams at Foundry and FSG early next week.  Hence the total lack of blogging.  Between edits and trip planning (including who to stick screaming children with for 3 nights), I've been a bit busy.  So through next Tuesday, I'll be posting my New York Minute, a daily bit of ridiculousness about the trip.

On Tuesday, I sort of melted down with excitement and nerves and decided the only way to cure it was to  go shopping.  I wanted to buy a great outfit for the meeting with FSG.  But what do you wear to a fancy meeting with your publishing team in New York?  I wasn't sure either.  So this is how it went down:

Saleswoman:  Hi!  Is there anything you are looking for today?
Me: Yes, I have an important meeting next week.
Saleswoman:  Well, we have lots of suits.
Me: Um, that's not exactly what I'm looking for.
Saleswoman: What about a nice cardigan?  We have some argyle ones.
Me:  Yeah, I'm not really an argyle girl.
Saleswoman:  What do you have in mind?
Me: Something that epitomizes me.
Saleswoman: *Blank stare*
Me: Yeah, I'll just look around.

I did find an outfit that is totally me and I'll post pics on Monday morning from my hotel!

  5. New York? Oh how fun! It's such a great city to explore. I'm hoping to make it up there some day in the future for similar reasons!
