Ok, I've been tagged in the Lucky Seven meme probably about seven times, but I just finally found out what the heck it is. So basically the most excellent Lissa Price tagged me a few days ago and I am supposed to do this:
1. Go to the seventh or 77th page of our WIP (or latest book)
2. Count down 7 lines.
3. Copy the 7 sentences that follow and post them.
4. Tag 7 other authors.
So here goes from pg. 7 of Crewel:
"It’s an ordinary evening at our ordinary table, and apart from the overcooked pot roast—Mom’s specialty and a rare treat— not much is different, not for my family at least. The grand- father clock ticks in our hall, cicadas perform their summer crescendo, a motopact rumbles down the street, and outside the sky fades into dusky twilight, beckoning nightfall. It’s a day just like the hundreds that came before it, but tonight I won’t tiptoe from my bed to my parents’ room. "
And tag:
1. A.G. Howard
2. Bethany Hagen
3. Tessa Elwood
4. Jessica Khoury
5. Kalen O'Donnell
6. Robyn Lucas
7. Katherine Ernst
There I participated. Are you happy? Can I go back to talking to myself in a corner now?
Thank you for the sneak peek :-)
ReplyDeleteLove it! Creates a great atmosphere in just a few lines. :) Looking forward to reading the whole thing.
ReplyDeleteI love the Lucky Seven meme. I ran across some mention of Crewel (can't remember where, sorry!) and was really intrigued by it. I generally don't read YA, but sometimes an author can do it so well that the genre doesn't matter like with Hunger Games or Harry Potter. I'm looking forward to this one.
ReplyDeleteCrack the whip on that publisher!
I better be exempt from this since I did it a while ago! Although, I guess I could do it with my WIP...
