Buzz, buzz, buzz, and BEA

If you follow me on twitter than on Monday you may have seen this tweet come through:

twitter post

If you don't follow me on twitter, you missed a 45 minute, interactive tirade about tables at Starbucks.  I'm just sayin'.

But I digress.

Thirty minutes prior to that tweet I had received an unknown call on my cell phone.  Peeps, there is only one person who calls from an unknown number: my fabulous editor Janine O'Malley.  Sidenote: she claims the Flatiron Building blocks the number, but well, one has to wonder.  I knew it was either good news or her calling to beg me to stop rewriting book 2 and send the damn thing.

I took my chances.

As it turns out, it was wonderful, big, huge, amazing news.  Crewel, Janine, and I have been selected for the BEA YA Editors Buzz Panel in June (but mostly Crewel and Janine).  You might have heard of a few other books that have been on the buzz panels like, oh, Matched or The DUFF or The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer or The Night Circus.  Then because Janine likes to tell me giddy-making news and torture me, she immediately reminded me to keep my big mouth shut until BEA made the announcement.

I bounced all around the entrance to Starbucks.  Bounced on the phone to Mollie.  Bounced inside to tell the Husband.  And strangely no one at Starbucks batted an eye at the bouncing.  Perhaps they have grown use to my crazy, bohemian shenanigans, which might explain why I could not stare anyone out from their table yesterday.

Then I tweeted said cryptic tweet and got a handful of "tease!" replies.   So when you see cryptic posts about awesomeness, I'm usually bursting with news that I absolutely-must-not tell.

ANYWAY.

I will be at BEA.  Crewel will be at BEA.  Maybe more importantly, Crewel ARCs will be at BEA! I know pretty much nothing else, but if you will be at BEA, maybe we can be(a) together.  Or you can say hi.  Or heckle.  Whatever.  It's all good, cause I'm going to New York.

  1. I miss so much not being on Twitter. It just scares me. I need to take a deep breath and get over it already to join in on the tweeting fun. That aside, CONGRATULATIONS! Bouncing with you - although it's belated bouncing since you just announced it. Fun times!!!
