Things I didn't expect about contracts. They are long. Ok, I expected that, but I had to sign 3 copies of each contract for all 3 books, meaning I signed 9 times, and the contracts totaled 306 pages! That's as long as my book.
Or how many questions I would have. I mean, it's just the next three years of my life! Thank goodness for my fabulous agent and Foundry's legal advisers.
Or how giddy I would feel when I packed up all 4 and a half pounds of contractual obligation and shipped it off to New York. It feels just like the hours following my wedding - exciting and joyful and surreal. But just like that day, there's a signed reminder that it really happened.
It really happened!
That is so so so so SO exciting! Can't wait to read CREWEL.
ReplyDeleteAlso, you look fabulous. It must be the joy.
Thanks for sharing such a fabulous moment in your life! CREWEL sounds amazing--and has a truly awesome title, if I may say.
ReplyDelete35 pages sure doesn't sound long until you stack them on top of each other, does it. :/
ReplyDeleteAt least it's "happy" heavy lifting!
Congrats! So exciting, and I love the bangs!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! And oh wow, 306 pages. That's kind of crazy. The good kind of crazy. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone (and the bangs got trimmed later that day, Amber, so I guess they're staying).
